A referral loop for a home service business
A sample system that invites happy customers to refer a friend, logs each introduction, alerts the owner and tracks the reward until it is paid.
Demonstration. Built with sample content to show how the system works. Names, messages and data are not from a real client, and no results are claimed.
Business context
A sample home cleaning business with a steady base of repeat customers. All names, messages and data shown are sample content made for this demonstration.
Starting point and goal
Starting situation: Customers often say they would recommend the business, but referrals arrive at random and nobody tracks who sent whom. A promised $25 credit is sometimes forgotten.
Goal: Ask happy customers at the right moment, make referring take under a minute, and never miss a reply or a reward.
The system
- 1
Trigger
When a job is marked complete and the customer rates it well, they are added to the invitation list.
- 2
Invitation
Two days later they receive a short text from the owner with a personal referral link.
- 3
Capture
The friend fills in a three-field form. The record stores who referred them.
- 4
Handoff
The owner gets an alert with the friend's details and a suggested first reply.
- 5
Reward
When the friend's first job is paid, the referrer's credit is logged and a thank-you message is queued for approval.
How the loop reads at a glance
| Step | What happens | Who is involved |
|---|---|---|
| Job complete | Customer marked happy | Your team, as today |
| Day 2 | Personal referral ask sent | Automatic |
| Referral in | Friend's details logged with referrer | Automatic |
| Within minutes | Owner alerted with context | Owner replies |
| First job paid | Reward logged, thank-you queued | Owner approves |
What to notice
The system never decides that a referral turned into revenue on its own. A reward is only logged when the referred friend's first job is marked paid. That keeps the numbers honest and stops rewards going out for referrals that never booked.
